Miss Joy Christina Nugentwas born in Jacksonville, Florida to two proud Christian parents and an older brother who had been praying for her arrival.
Ms. Joy Nugent has taught at Frederick Adventist Academy since 2013. Prior to that, she was a missionary teacher on a small island in the Pacific for four years. Originally from Orlando, Florida, Ms. Nugent is a graduate of Andrews University where she majored in Elementary Education with concentrations in Reading, Social Studies, and Music. Currently she is pursuing her Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction at Hood College. Ms. Nugent believes in creating an open, collaborative, and family atmosphere in her classroom where effective learning can take place. She strives to learn each student’s learning style while establishing deep and meaningful relationships. It is Ms. Nugent’s goal that all of her students work to their highest potential, while drawing closer to God each day. She is very excited to join the middle school program as the Language Arts and Social Studies teacher.
