Last week our Pre-K class continued our tree unit by taking a look at who lives in the trees. We went for a walk outside to get first hand experience about the animals in the trees right outside our classroom window. We found ants, spiders, and most interestingly feathers. Finding feathers on the ground led us want to know more about the birds in the trees here at school.
So our tree study has taken a slight detour to study birds in our area. Hence the birdfeeders we made last Friday. I hope you took the time to place them outside a window where your child can see any birds that might be attracted to it. We have placed a suet feeder and a water feeder outside our classroom window in hopes of attracting some feathered friends.
We will continue to study birds this week and will delve into other animals including honey bees and other animals that interest your children.
